Grow your Comfort zone
Ever heard the phrase: “Nothing ever grows inside your comfort zone”. It’s true, as it cliché as it sounds. A comfort zone is not something static, a comfort zone is organic and malleable. It can change and does change when you put some pressure on it. Your comfort zone could stay the same for the rest of your life if you keep doing the same things you always did. Your comfort zone changes when you do something different than you’ve ever done before.
If you never do something you’re afraid to do, your comfort zone never grows. When you DO something you’re scared to do – your comfort zone grows. Again, because you put pressure on it.
This means that things might seem (and feel) scared at the time, but once you do them and do them often – they won’t be as scary anymore and your comfort zone will grow.
So, some steps to take the risks you secretly want to take/things you want to do – but feel scared about. Here they are:
- Know what you want.
- Acknowledge the fear – and don’t mistake it for resistance!
- Accept the fear and feel it. It is part of being human.
- Recognise that stepping outside of your comfort zone means expanding it and slowly fading that fear.
- Do it – whatever it is – anyways!
- WIN! SUCCES! GROWTH! And of course, happiness 🙂
I hope this helps! Feel the fear and do it anyway.
Lots of Love,
Britt
